Saturday 21 January 2012 -- As of today, restocking has finally begun - several small & medium cross bottles are now available. Due to requests, we started with some of our unearthed and beautifully patinaed bottles that have remnants of the earth still clinging to the walls of glass. These look great on their own and look fabulous mixed in with our ornate and cut crystal bottles... which are coming NEXT. (Look for these starting Monday)

Framed out in heavy, organically sculpted, weathered solder, a fiery cross of leaded crystal catches and refracts an amazing amount of light - throwing a confetti of color in all directions. The rusty solder picks up the earthy tones in the earthy, yet ethereal patina within the paneled bottle and the flashes of iridescence within the patina nicely complement the refracted light of the crystals. A band of solder rings the base of the interesting bottle and further contributes to the existing juxtaposition of rustic and refined.

Heavily sculpted solder, washed in the worn and rusted hues of weathered iron, frame the plethora of radiant crystals which form the petite French Alisee cross. It is beautifully apparent that the crystals have been cut to catch and refract as much light possible by the confetti of color which is thrown when light washes across the faceted crystal surfaces. Salt and sun faded hues of coral, salmon and sea salt white grace the textured surfaces of this ancient looking ocean treasure. Boasting striations of beautifully faded hues of cinnabar, espresso and creams amid texture galore, this murex shell, although petite in stature, is enormous in interest and beauty. A Rhapsody of Stunning Contradictions.

Crowning a gorgeous bottle from a recent shipwreck dive is a delicate Moonshell showing some scars from its life undersea, rendering it perfect within its imperfection. Paper thin, the shell is a work of art in and of itself - ombre shades move from the palest pink to saturated mauve while dark rays of of the deepest hue fan out across the entire matte surface, adding a geometrically element to the soft, round shape. Binding the shell to its pedestal of iridized glass is heavy, organically sculpted solder, carefully, yet crudely patinaed to mirror the look and feel of rusted iron which adds a wonderful contrast to the delicate shell and ethereal elements of the bottle beneath. Flashes of pink, aqua and gold are predominant in the veil of patina and calcification that enshrouds the bottle -- all of which visually ties the shell to the bottle. I chose the four rosaries that I thought looked best on the bottle and best represented what I had on hand. My personal favorites for your bottle are the gold hued Child of Prague or the Mother of Pearl rosary - I think they best pick up the hues and feel of the bottle, but I am happy to put any that you choose on it. If none of these are to your taste, I can pull some others :) xo isa

Vintage Child of Prague Chaplet Rosary -
this rosary is delicate and very sweet -- it fits precisely around the neck of the bottle and picks up the subtle brassy/gold areas in the bottle. It is the closest in size, color and look to the photo in the giveaway. The metal is oxidized and beautifully worn - the beads each show different levels of color and wear - some are shiny, some are matte. The child of Prague medal is oxidized in the cracks and crevices and the highest points are shiny. The back reads, "Shrine of the Infant of Prague//DOMINICAN FATHERS//NEW HAVEN CONN." 5" long. No alteration needed.

Vintage Garnet and gold medal St. Ann Chaplet Rosary -
The first photo is a size and style comparison.
Elegant and delicate - this garnet and gold metal rosary can be doubled to fit the same as the Child of Prague Rosary and is delicate enough so it doesn't look bulky when wrapped tight like that. The garnet beads are small (approx6mm)and rich in color. The gold metal is worn in places and beautifully tarnished. The medal itself has oxidized in the crevices, giving it more depth. The front depicts Mary and Ann, and the back reads, "St. Ann pray for us" The garnet red complements the bottle beautifully and the golds pick up the subtle gold flecking in the bottle. No alterations needed. 7" long.

French Mother of Pearl Rosary
Delicate and lovely to the extreme if you like timeworn beauty. Diminutive, hand carved mother of pearl beads dot the rosary between links of tarnished silver. a center medal depicting our Lady of Grace on both sides suspends a drop of beads and link about an inch longer than the Child of Prague drop and suspended from it is a tarnished carved silver crucifix.Tarnished in the cracks and crevices and polished by wear on the raised areas. It would double around the neck, and hang lower than the two previous choices. It picks up the greys and silvers in the bottle beautifully. No alterations needed. 13.25" long.

Antique Italian Black wooden Rosary with Flaming Heart ex voto, medal and cross.
-- Delicate black oval wooden beads, the same size as the garnet and gold metal rosary beads above, are dotted between tarnished links of silver. 2 Medals and a carved cross of silver embellish the rosary. A rectangular center medal with Our Lady of Grace alone on one side and on the other she is crowned and with the Christ child. The Ex Voto has a flaming heart on one side with a ring of writing which reads, "Sweet Heart of Mary be my salvation" and on the other side is an etching of Mary, a couple praying, flames at the bottom and angels flanking the scene and reads, "Our Lady of Intercession pray for us" The silver crucifix is hallmarked "Italy" on the back. All three are beautifully tarnished and worn. 12.25" long. This is much larger than the 3 above - the beads are the same size as the garnet beads, and it is the same length as the Mother of Pearl piece, but is is heavier and has a larger presence and stature because of the size of the medals and the flat black. I would recommend shorting it if you choose this one, because doubled it seems too heavy and bulky. It is beautiful, but definitely makes the piece feel much heavier, no matter if you alter it or not. Alterations recommended.

Classic Olive Wood and Silver Italian Rosary.
This gives the piece a much more primitive and rustic feel. Oval carved olive wood beads dot the long, silver rosary that has tarnished over time. A delicate silver Mary is haloed by design and suspended from the drop is a classic olive wood crucifix with silver caps, back, and Christ figure. Hallmarked into the silver back is "MissionHurst" and "Italy". This can be loosely draped, for an entirely different look than all the others, and will take up the length of the bottle front face. It can be shortened to fit around the neck of the bottle, and because of the length of the drop and size of the cross will hang very low on the bottle. Alteration recommended.
